McLeod Information Systems LLC HUBZone Certified

North Charleston, SC, January 22, 2020: McLeod Information Systems LLC (MIS) has been approved for certification by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to participate in the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) program. As part of this and other SBA contracting programs, Federal agencies strive to maintain 3% of all annual contracts as set-aside for certified small business, which provides McLeod Information Systems, as a service disabled veteran owned and operated small business and HUBZone certified, with increased opportunities when pursuing specified Federal IT contracts.

The HUBZone certification not only benefits MIS, but also the people in the local community. A main motivation of MIS obtaining this certification is to employee, train, and mentor local high school and college students. This opportunity will allow qualifying students to gain invaluable experience in the Information technology and security field to prepare them for a successful future. MIS is the first cybersecurity company in North Charleston to have apprentices enrolled at Trident Technical College (TTC). MIS currently has two dual enrolled apprentice, one in-house-trained cyber security apprentice and two high school interns. This is the first year TTC has offered an associate’s degree in cybersecurity. MIS is proud to partner with the state and local community to help shape our youth for a bright future.
